The Ministry of Commerce and nine other departments recently jointly issued the "Notice on Improving the Recycling System of Used Home Appliances and Furniture and Other Renewable Resources" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice") to improve the recycling system of used home appliances and furniture, facilitate the recycling of renewable resources, and promote the formation of a green production and lifestyle.
The "Notice" gives a clear goal: by 2025, a number of typical cities with recycling systems for used home appliances and furniture and other renewable resources will be built across the country, a number of leading recycling enterprises will be cultivated, a number of typical experience models will be promoted, and a number of policies, regulations and standards will be formed. The national recycling volume of used home appliances and furniture will increase by more than 15% compared with 2023, and the standardized recycling level of used home appliances and furniture will be significantly improved.
According to the person in charge of the Circulation Development Department of the Ministry of Commerce, improving the recycling system of used home appliances and furniture and other renewable resources will help improve the convenience of old home appliances and furniture for new ones, release the consumption potential of home appliances and furniture renewal, and is of great significance to promoting the formation of a green production and lifestyle. The Notice proposes specific tasks in four aspects: improving the recycling network, cultivating recycling entities, innovating recycling models, and standardizing recycling behaviors.
More diversified and large-scale recycling entities will emerge. Relevant departments encourage recycling companies to improve their organization through chain operations, agreement cooperation, etc., promote the formation of a number of leading companies in the recycling industry, and strengthen the guidance of relatively scattered front-end recycling entities. Support the coordinated development of the upstream and downstream of the home appliance and furniture industry chain, and actively promote the construction of supply chain innovation and application demonstration. Guide recycling companies to work together with home appliance and furniture brand companies, set up waste home appliance storage and transportation yards, and furniture recycling center warehouses, and improve the scale and intensive level of waste home appliance and furniture recycling.
